iPad for digital signage?

Will the new Apple iPad have a role in digital signage.  It can certainly play SignChannel content, images & video but will also allow for incredible interactivity.  Is there a role for this device in the digital signage kiosk space?

Consumer media players creating great low cost digital signage players?

Many new media player devices were announced at CES from the Popbox to Boxee and dozens of prototypes being shown off from the ODMs.  These devices promise to bring internet content to TV screens circumventing the cable companies and many are priced between $100 and $150.  With a media player that runs SignChannel, a TV screen and a SignChannel account, you’re off to races with a compelling digital signage solution at a very affordable price.

Will the Apple Tablet be a digital signage device

As reported on WirelessPictureFrame the iSlate, iTab, Apple Tablet or whatever it will be called is one of the most anticipated devices of 2010.  With the addition of a FrameChannel or SignChannel app, this device could be an interesting digital signage device.  Imagine a series of pre-canned slideshows that could be played in passive mode or enable the user to select a a show in “kiosk mode” to get the information they desire.  The possibilities are endless but one thing is sure, stores will need to find a way to lock these down as knowing Apple they will be a hot item for a while.
